Home Schooling or Competent Private Instruction is private instruction that is provided to a child in Iowa. The Mississippi Bend AEA Home Schooling program offers information and support to the parents, guardian, or legal custodian of a child of compulsory attendance age who chooses to educate their child outside the traditional public school setting Iowa Code section 299A.1. In March 2023, the Mississippi Bend AEA Home School Testing addresses the compliance requirement for Home School baseline and annual testing by providing an (ISASP) Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (formally known as Iowa Assessment) testing time and site for parents and school districts. The testing dates for 2022-23 will be March 22 and 23, 2023 and will be held at the Mississippi Bend AEA.
